I can no longer use Thunderbird with my Hotmail account. It keeps prompting for password several times then error comes up "server disconnected". I removed the hotmail account from Thunderbird, then tried to add it back in. It will not accept Hotmail account anymore, with same error about server disconnected. I am able to log in and use my Hotmail account directly from their, outlook.live.com without any problems.

Since I updated to 102.11.0, I can't synchronise my Yandex accounts in Thunderbird. I get a screen to enter my credentials. It shows my Yandex email; then it requests I enter my password, and afterwards, I get a screen with the error message below:

400 redirect_uri does not match the Callback URL defined for the client

I'd appreciate your help.

Good Morning Ace Volunteers,

For several weeks, Thunderbird crashes when I try to open letters with attachments and each time I try adding attachments to my outgoing letters. Every time.

On incoming mail with an attachment, I don't get a glimpse of the letter, let alone read the attachment. Instant shutdown. The preview pane doesn't display when there's an attachment.

Just now, I spent a good 15 minutes trying my best to access what a friend wrote, knowing the attachment wouldn't open. Though I tried every trick in the book, each effort led to an instant shutdown of Thunderbird. Never saw a word of it, just the subject line.

Stubborn me has been trying to diagnose and fix the problem when I could seek a solution from fellow Thunderbird users. It's time to ask for help from DemWhoWhat can fix this problem.

Hello, I've been having an issue with gmail in my unified inbox where anything that I do with emails doesn't update unless I click on another folder and back to my inbox. Like if I delete an email, it looks like the last one on the list disappears until I click another folder and back, then the one I deleted will be gone and the other one still there. It also happens if I move an email to another folder. I have two other hotmail accounts that still work like they should, just email.

Thunderbird (currently 102.10.0) became extremely slow at reading emails when I went from 91.13.1 to 102, I'm not sure of the full version but I believe it was 102.3.0 . TB no longer correctly reports whether or not I have emails waiting when I first log in. The size of the emails doesn't appear to be relevant. It may be as little as just a couple of lines of type or it may include attachments. The length of time to download is about the same at anywhere from 20 seconds to 1+ minutes. When I track it on the task manager, of the 4 images of TB there are always 2 images of TB seemingly active at the same time when I Get Message. One image is very large while the other is much smaller relatively. All of this with both the Scam Detection and Antivirus turned off. After reading a number of the entries on the forum, I performed some of the steps suggested. Here is a synopsis of what I did and what I saw.

Put TB in SAFE mode. Sent a message. Did Get Message(GM). Task manager showed only one large TB image active, not the usual two mentioned above. Download was the usual long time. Sent a second message and had the same results. Turned off SAFE mode. Did another Send and Get 2 more times. Task manager showed the two images active. Response times were slow. Turned on SAFE mode again and repeated as above. Results were the same - one active image and slow response.

Started Windows 7 Pro in SAFE mode with internet. Started task manager and TB in normal mode. Sent a message. Did Get Message and the mail was downloaded immediately. Sent a second message and had the same result.

Started Windows in normal mode. Turned off email antivirus and smart firewall features in Norton 360. Repeated test scenario as above. The results were the same as I stated in the begining of this submission.

If there is anything else I can add that would help me to get Thunderbird back to normal, please let me know.

While attempting to access a file folder with 977 email messages the file completely disappeared. Rebooted TB but it did not return. Using MS ver. 7 pro. Deleted over 5K emails from various file folders. This has happened several times before but two files returned and two files cannot be found. How do I find these files especially the critical 977 email messages. Thanks, Rick Arlen

I use Thunderbird to access my mailbox via IMAP and have been doing so for many years so I am baffled by this issue. A mail sent to both me and my wife (separate mailboxes with the same provider) a couple of days ago never arrived in my Thunderbird inbox, even though it was successfully delivered - I can see it using a webmail client, and with another IMAP client on Android (Aquamail). My wife also uses Thunderbird, and it happily retrieved her copy of the message. I asked her to forward it to me but the forwarded message also failed to arrive in Thunderbird. Thinking it must be something on my computer (Linux, as is hers) I installed Evolution on the same machine. That happily retrieves the original message and all the forwarding attempts.

I can only assume there's something particular about this message that is causing Thunderbird to treat it (and all forwards containing it) somehow to be treated differently from others on my machine. I'm getting no visible errors or warnings, and the messages don't seem to be moved to another folder (spam, junk or whatever) as far as I can see.

Any suggestions how I can work out what's going on? It's disconcerting to know that some messages can simply not show up in Thunderbird and on other occasions I might be completely unaware of it.

For some time I have been having trouble displaying previously downloaded and read messages, mainly in the inbox. After clicking in a message its subject and receiver is different or invisible. At the same time the message body itself is displayed in HTML format….And belongs to quite different mesage!!! If the message contains attachments, they are not visible. Mail server type: IMAP. Logging directly on amy mailbox from web browser the message looks correctly. Being logged into my inbox through a web browser and performing the operation of moving this message to another folder and then moving it to my inbox causes the message to display correctly in tunderbird. Screens attached

I'm using version 102 of Thunderbird. I have set up a number of subsidiary address books in Thunderbird under my Personal Address Book. In the past, I could drag and drop an entry from my primary Personal Address Book. When I clicked on the target address book, the new entry would display, along with the others previously there. With this current version of Thunderbird, I can still drag and drop, but when I click on the subsidiary address book, the only entry is the one I just copied. All the previous ones are no longer displayed. After a lot of angst and re-typing of entries, I accidentally discovered that the entries still exist, including the new one. But I have to completely cancel out of Address Book and then select it again. Now all entries are displayed. I can't believe that I'm the only one with this problem, but I haven't seen any reference to it from others.

I was trying to make a change at layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to a chronic fontsize problem. It seemed to have worked so I exited and went back to Thuderbird and my emails, all three different sets, had disappeared and all that was left was a kind of shell of the main page.

It keeps giving me the familiar notices for new maile coming in and the settings are still there for all four emails but the Folders category just says Folders ....

Is there any way to repair this? If not, I have another version, with most of the emails on another computer. Is there an easy way to copy it or move it to this computer?

I was at one time fairly decent with computers (have my undergrad degree in computer science) but I am pushing 70 now and it has gotten a lot harder for me. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

Thunderbird will not send mail after update the on 5/20/23. Thunderbird did an update on 5/20/23 after which I can no longer send emails. How do I fix this, OR how do I undo the update? It is now at 102.11.0 (64-bit). This is screwing up my business! I have read the FAQs and my settings seem to be correct, but I might have missed something. When I create a new calendar event and add invitees, it used to say SEND & CLOSE, but now it says SAVE & CLOSE. Thanks in advance for any advice.

we have a problem with our work email. It is operated on Microsoft Office platform. However half of the people in our company uses Thunderbird over MS Outlook. Few days ago our mail clients stopped to work on Thunderbird. I enslose the screenshot. On Outlook its still fine and working. Licence with Microsoft is therefore valid. Ohter mails(my private mail, or my second wokr email) work with the Thundrbird still fine.

Can you please help us, working in Outlook is terrible and making my life hell. We would like to stay on Thunderbird. Thanks a lot and have a nice day, Petr.
