Using 3.6 version, updated this morning no bookmarks, restored them but bring it up and no bookmarks again?

Using 3.6 version, updated this morning no bookmarks, restored them but bring it up and no bookmarks again? I restarted my computer after re installing my bookmarks from my desktop but the bookmarks are not showing up when I bring up a new browser window. Was working last night and this morning it had an update then the bookmarks disappeared. How do I get the bookmarks to come back up when bringing up a new browser window?
