I added an email account to thunderbird and am now missing some folders in my original account

I added an email account to Thunderbird. Not long after I noticed that some of my folders were missing from my original account. I have since deleted the new account in the hopes that they would come back but it did not work. I have tried searching for the emails in the search bar as I read I could re open them in their folder and that might restore them but I cannot find any so far.
