Firefox will stop responding whenever I try to visit any webpage, is there a way I could fix this?

Whenever I try to visit any kind of website, firefox will start to load up the page and then freeze up. I've tried visiting webpages with firefox in safe mode but it would still freeze up when I tried to load up a webpage.
