My page setup screen has changed so margins are no longer there

using 3.6.16 was fine for a long time to print from the screen. Today I went to the "page setup" screen to change the margins and remove the extra items (page # and date) that prints at the bottom of the page. After it won't always print things and the "page setup" screen is much different and no longer has the margins available.
