I receive an error when sending an e-mail to multiple lists

I've been sending periodic e-mails to multiple lists within my contacts. There are about 400 recipients total with some duplication. Today I received this error when I pressed send (It's the lists inside my address book):

    • Family <**Family>, *BTHS List <"*BTHS List">, *TA Folks <"*TA Folks">, *Trains <*Trains> is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail.

I'm on Window 10 using Thnderbird 45.1.1.

I've already contacted my ISP and they say it's a Thunderbird issue.
